When Women Lost the Vote

When Women Lost the Vote: A Revolutionary Story, 1776–1807 began as a 4,000 sq ft stand-alone historical exhibition that had to be incorporated into the permanent galleries due to issues related to the pandemic. It explored the little-known history of the nation’s first women voters and examined the political conflicts that led to their voting rights being stripped away.

Also featured in the exhibition were several recently discovered poll lists including the names of women voters, tracked down by the Museum’s curatorial team while we were developing and designing the exhibition.

This is an incredible discovery in history and I encourage everyone to read more about here!
