Chinese Snuff Bottles

Organized in conjunction with the 50th Annual Convention of the International Chinese Snuff Bottle Society in the Fall of 2018, this small but powerful exhibition consisting of nearly 250 Chinese snuff bottles from the Qing Dynasty. Each case highlights a particular material used to create the snuff bottles inside, from delicately crafted stone to glass, ivory, and more.

Some challenges included the sheer quantity of objects, limited time and not having the dimensions of the majority of the bottles. I knew, however, that the design had to call attention to such small objects, yet be clean and simple enough to not overshadow them.
