Ciudad Santuario:
Philadelphia's Role as a Sanctuary City
Ciudad Santuario:
Philadelphia's Role as a Sanctuary City
Graduate school exhibition project developed and designed over a semester, from conceptual stages to pre-production documents. Being an immigrant myself, I wanted to share the stories of other immigrants, the truth about how the immigration system works, and dismantle any misinformation around what Sanctuary Cities do to protect undocumented immigrants.
Mission: Through sharing real experiences and following the journeys of Latin American immigrants in the Philadelphia community, visitors will explore the history of Sanctuary Cities, what it means for Philadelphia, and gain an understanding of the systemic failures in the immigration process while fostering empathy and empowerment towards an improved system.
