Hello, thanks for stopping by!
My name is Sam Mera-Candedo and I've been working in museums and non-profits for eight years. I began my museum journey working in visitor services and education, giving tours, and working with the public. After helping install exhibitions for a couple of years at Philadelphia's Magic Gardens, I went on to get my MFA and use my illustrative and community engagement skills to design exhibitions.
I've done freelance work for Alusiv, The Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia, and the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, where I later became the in-house Exhibition Designer. Currently, I am a part of the Creative team at National Geographic Society, joining them as the Exhibition Designer, Experiences and focusing on the redesign of the campus public spaces.
Feel free to drop me a line if you want to get in touch!
